Whispers of darkness

As the darkness whispers into my ear,
I feel reborn again.
Its caresses brushing away,
The archaic part of myself.
So I smile and dance,
With the new self within me.

But as the darkness retreats,
I become an empty shell of myself,
And I am once more filled,
With all that must be washed away.

So I cry to my darkness,
To come and embrace me,
Come and sooth my sorrows.
My tears will quench your thirst.
My pain will sooth your aching heart.

I long to feel the you again,
whispering through into my ears.
So I can abandon my pain,
Deep within myself.
