Child's awakening

One clear day after rain
Sky saw a small child
With innocent eyes.
Sky fell in love with child's eyes,
The eyes of purity and innocence.
It had never seen such eyes
Looking at the tainted world.

Sky spoke to the child...
Tell me the secret dear child,
Secret to such eyes.
Child smiled and shook his head.
Child did not understand,
Did not know what Sky wanted.

Sky pleaded and begged,
Yet child did not speak.
So sky raged,
Cried out with frustration.
Then it reached out,
And took the child's eyes.

Sky marveled at the purity
Of the eyes in its hand.
Its tainted hands holding them,
Not wanting to loose them.

Then the eyes began to cloud
With all the taints of the world.
Sky raged again.
The eyes were no longer pure.
Sky threw the tained eyes
Back toward the child,
The eyes that were tained
By the touch of Sky.

Child took his eyes back,
Which were no longer pure,
The eyes that were no longer his.
He saw the world for the first time
And wept with pain.
He could no longer go back.
He could no longer be.

Child cried for loss,
The loss of his innocence.
He despaired
And pain ate him away.
When child died of despair,
Sky no longer remembered him.
